Week 1

Here’s a summary of Week 1 of Marathon Training. Vlogs of the week are at the bottom of the page. I’ve included my cycle commute to show any extra activity I’m doing on top of it, and also my total basal insulin (NovoRapid – Medtronic 640g pump) for the day just to show how it varies with each type of exercise. I intend on using MyFitnessPal to log food and drinks, too, so. I can add bolus doses with some perspective! I was on around 22/23 U per day pre-training so it was a quick drop.

  • Run: 6.4 M (10.3 KM) (+ 6 hill sprints)
  • Cycle: 20.4 M (33 KM)
  • Basal: 10.525 U

Day 3

  • Run: 7.3 M (11.7 KM) (+ impromptu 20 x 10s sprints to combat hypos – unintentional ‘Fartlek’ training)

  • Basal: 11.775 U

Day 4

  • Run: 5.6 M (9 KM) ‘Easy’
